Country Gentleman corn is also known as shoe-peg corn because of its irregular kernels. First introduced in 1890 by S. D. Woodruff & Sons, this variety has become popular for sweet corn in home gardens. It can grow as many as three ears per stalk! Each ear is pack with great flavor and beautiful kernels and can be as big as eight inches long. They keep their quality on the stalk for much longer than other sweet corn varieties. Stalks grow to seven or eight feet tall. 90 days to maturity. Zea mays.
