Lactuca sativa. Non-GMO. Heirloom. This variety gets its name from its unusual dark red and Burgundy spots that appear as freckles. It can be enjoyed as baby leaves or fully grown. Full heads are perfect for Cesar salad. Freckles are crispier, more flavorful and less watery than the romaine you get at the store.
