Pea Seeds - Usui

Considered a delicacy. Prefers cool temperatures. Prepare fertile, well-drained soil. Sow seeds in early to late spring after last frost, or sow seeds in fall 8-10 weeks before first frost date. Keep soil moist but not soaked during the germinating period to prevent seeds from rotting. Fertilize as needed with a balanced fertilizer. Begin cutting when plants are at least 10-12" tall. Young pea shoot-tips and leaves have a delicious pea flavor. Stir-fry with garlic in dishes such as Chinese dau miao.
