How to Grow White Gem Korean Radishes

Loosen soil well and add sand as needed to prepare bed. White Gem radishes should be planted in late summer or early fall. Sow seeds an inch apart in rows an inch apart, and thin seedlings after a week. Keep consistently moist, and harvest once roots reach desired size.

Harvesting White Gem Radishes

White Gem radishes can be harvested like a normal radish. Grab plants as close to the bas as possible and pull straight upwards. Your radishes should come right out of the dirt.

If your radishes seem to be stuck in the ground, try using a spade or hoe to loosen the dirt around the plants and pull them again.

Culinary Tips

White Gem radishes are great in salads or as a snack. Use them for recipes where you want the crisp texture without as much bitterness. In Asian cuisines, radishes are often pickled or made into kimchee. A pickled radish salad makes a great side dish or garnish! If you want to try something different, boil some of your fresh White Gem radishes with ginger.
