Salsify Seeds - Sandwich Island

This heirloom from the 1800’s is a completely edible plant. Non-GMO. Salsify was and is used in soups and stews. This biennial is incredibly productive and taste will improve after several frosts. Salsify is a self seeding plant and will produce throughout the season. It is a parsnip-like root that is milder in flavor and not sweet. When the plant first sprouts the foliage looks like it is grass. Planting carrots or radish between salsify will help to mark the row and will be harvested at differing times.
