Prepare fertile, well-drained soil. Sow seeds in spring after last frost to early summer or late summer/early fall. Keep soil moist. Fertilize as needed. Optimum growing temperatures are in the 60s°F. Exposure to frost or prolonged temperatures below 50°F may result in bolting. Mulch fall crops to avoid premature bolting. Harvest young baby leaves for salad mix or harvest the whole plant when fully mature at 10-12" tall. For microgreens, sow seeds in spring to summer in sandy soil in a bright but cool location. Broadcast seeds on soil and cover with a thin layer. Keep uniformly moist. Harvest by cutting when seedlings reach 3-4". Use in salad, saute, soup and stir-fry. Excellent as baby leaf and microgreens.
