Trigonella frenum graecum. Fenugreek is an incredibly versatile plant. It is cultivated as a vegetable, a spice and for traditional medicinal applications. It has been used as incense since the time of ancient Egypt. Also called “Methi” the plant has Microgreen elements. The entire plant is edible.The leaves are used as a vegetable, the dried seeds as spice and a cold water extract has been used for centuries to battle respiratory infections and to lower fever. A favorite in many spice mixes.
Sew late spring to late summer. Direct sew about 4 inches deep. Consider soaking the seed for 12-24 hours. The plant thrives in full sun. 65° 120-150 days to maturity
