Gourd Seeds - Nam Tao Klom - Hybrid. Lagenaria siceraria. 60-65 days to maturity. Non-GMO. Warm season annual. This edible, high yielding gourd is also known as White-flowered gourd and Upo or Opo, It is a vigorous climbing hybrid producing round shaped fruit with light green skin and flesh. Fruit size is approximately 4" x 5" and can weigh up to 1 lb. Requires a long, warm growing season. Approximately 140 seeds / oz.

DESCRIPTION

Gourd Seeds - Nam Tao Klom - Hybrid

Prepare fertile, well drained soil. Sow seeds in spring/early summer after last frost in a warm, sunny location. Hill planting: Form soil into a 1-ft. diameter mound 3-4' tall. Space mounds 4-6' apart. On each mound plant 1-2 seeds. Row planting: See spacing info in chart. Keep soil moist. Fertilize as needed. Train to climb a vertical support for better air circulation, straighter fruit and ease of harvest. Bottle gourd flowers during early evening to sunrise. May need hand pollination. Harvest fruit when young and tender. Prepare bottle gourd as you would squash. Young gourds are delicious sauteed, stewed and stir-fried.
