A descendant of Early Jersey Wakefield cabbage, Charleston Wakefield is larger than its ancestor, but still conical in shape and just as tasty. It’s also slightly larger, with heads weighing about three to five pounds at maturity. It originated in an 1880 catalog. Heat resistant, but it tolerates cooler temperatures as well.
