Cumin Seeds
Cumin Seeds
Cumin produces a plant full of lacey flowers similar to Queen Anne's Lace. These flowers mature into many seeds that are used as a common spice in chili powder, garam masala, curry powder, adobos, and bahaarat. Cumin requires a long growing season as it takes 120 days to mature. You may want to start your seeds indoors before planting at least 1-2 weeks after the last potential frost date. Add cumin to your garden for the earthy and sweet bitterness you can smell and taste. If you don't want to consume the seeds, add them to attract beneficial insects to combat aphid and caterpillar susceptible plants in your garden.
